ftp.redhat.com = official, stable distributed packages, by RedHat rawhide = cutting/bleeding edge versions of distributed packages, by RedHat contrib = packages contributed by anyone, unsupported, little (no?) quality control rhcn = packages by registered contributors, unsupported but checked + validated Tom

> I don't believe that Red Hat makes rawhide iso files. Many people have reported problems with the installer. Basically, there is no guaruntee that any of the packages will work.
Rawhide is just that, raw cutting edge bullwhipped head-'em-up move-'em-out rpm's that may/maynot work, so I'd treat /rawhide with a certain amount of "Fear and Loathing". Good stuff is in there, though. Real gems can be found.
