This document is aimed specifically at an anime audience (Japanese ` subtitle/English audio). SVCD 1.0 (Philips) is the newer standard to incorporate overlay text & graphics (subtitles, karaoke). The older CVD (China video disc) standard currently enjoys broader support among manufacturers, but is obselete now that China has officially adopted the Philips spec. To help minimize strain on the video I recommend a lower, sub-quality bitrate ` joint-stereo (preserving dolby pro-logic is not a priority now) for the secondary audio stream. This document is still in outline form and may remain so indefinitely. Attention must be given towards the commonplace tasks of subtitle placement, sync correction etc… Nor have i investigated misc details such as the viability of including both SVCD & CVD subtitle streams. As per usual no consideration whatsoever will be given to menu creation as I have no patience for such trivialities
