gnome keeps messing up my /etc/fstab

I manually put in an entry for usb portable storage (digital camera) so that nonroot user — me — can mount or umount.

Something keeps removing the entries after I unplug the camera , of course after properly umounting it, from then usb port. So whenever I need to mount it I have log in as root.

> # chkconfig kudzu off
> # service kudzu stop

Good point but I am not sure that solves the problem. But when I look in /etc/fstab I see kudzu as a filesystem option. I (previouly) copied the floppy line and change it for the camera. I (now) remove the kudzu option and now whatever was modifying /etc/fstab don't do that anymore.

I don't see kudzu when I do "ps aux" and when I do /etc/init.d/kudzu stop I don't get stop response.

Yes, you are right you need to remove the kudzu option from /ezc/fstab, the former is (only) used to switch off kudzu while booting
